I wrote and recorded this project in my house in Colorado. I had many slow days of contemplation to brew these tunes into their frenzied selves. It's my best work to date. First self-produced project. Todd Fadel of Agents of Future calls it an "acoustica-electronica-operatic-spokes-troubadour-for-the-mangled-masses that digs deep with a collection of newly-dusted relational relics of primal pomp.”
Michael Kaufmann from Asthmatic Kitty and Andy Whitman from Paste Magazine, on the Elephants in regard to the Bandspotting Contest at Calvin College’s Festival of Faith and Arts:
“This is the clear winner. The singing is heartfelt, honest and highly unique…a voice of earnest longing. The production is highly original and simultaneously melodic and aggressive when need be. It is rare that I hear such clearly communicated Gospel music that is soulful, articulate and adventurous.” |
